C-BLUES Contributes to EURO-CARBON Dataset

We are excited to announce that the C-BLUES project has contributed to the newly published EURO-CARBON dataset. This dataset includes over 61,000 entries of sediment organic carbon (OC) content from marine and salt marsh sediments across European regional seas.

Key Highlights:

  • Diverse Data: Collected from coastal and deep-sea bare sediments, salt marshes, seagrass, and macroalgal habitats.

  • OC Content: Highest in salt marshes (5.01%), followed by seagrass (2.37%) and bare sediments (1.88%).

We are proud to highlight that Kasper Hancke, Hege Gundersen, and Nuria Marba from NIVA and the C-BLUES project contributed sediment organic carbon inventory data to this extensive joint data paper.

This dataset is a valuable resource for researchers and policymakers working to protect sediment OC pools and mitigate climate change.
